Join our Board of Trustees

Integrated Alumni is recruiting to its Board of Trustees, effective from our hybrid Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 15 June 2022.

Integrated AlumNI was founded in 2013 by past pupils and supporters who saw the value in establishing a network of those who had attended an integrated school. We have been a registered charity since 2017. We are recruiting several new Trustees.

The context

We have recently seen key legislation being passed to support integrated education and we will shortly know the results of the election of the new Northern Irish Executive. As we emerge from the pandemic, AlumNI’s in-person and online events will become even more important. You will therefore be joining us at an important time for the next steps for integrated education in Northern Ireland.

The role

You’ll join a great board of existing Trustees who meet formally every 6 - 8 weeks and more frequently on specific topics like advocacy and membership development. The time commitment is around four hours every month.

The key roles and responsibilities of a Trustee, whether a past pupil of an integrated school or a supporter, are as follows:

  • Uphold the values, mission and vision of the Integrated AlumNI.

  • Ensure and oversee relevant governance with the constitution and relevant legislation.

  • Assume responsibility for the charity's assets and financial exposure.

  • Engage with stakeholders including relevant parties within the integrated movement to identify opportunities of how the AlumNI can help the furtherance of integrated education.

  • Help define our strategic direction.

  • Widen membership and support regional groups to grow.

  • Take the lead on different parts of our work, including governance, advocacy, media liaison, membership and events, and school engagement.

We invite potential Trustees with skills relating to media and communication, finance, governance and compliance, advocacy, education policy, and events. We welcome applications from those who might be interested and have the skills necessary to become or support a Treasurer. We particularly encourage young people (18+) who are just leaving or have recently left integrated education to apply, to share their unique perspectives and gain skills by becoming a young Trustee.

If this sounds interesting to you, apply using the link below.

The details

The closing date for applications is noon on 1 June 2022. Online interviews are likely to be held between 6-9 June 2022.

We would encourage you to think about applying. If you have any questions or if you want to have a chat with any of the Trustees about what the role entails and what you could bring, or if you wish to apply using a different application format, please get in touch with us on hello@integratedalumni.org.

We look forward to hearing from you! (And if you don’t think that becoming a Trustee is right for you now, make sure you #JoinIn by becoming a member of AlumNI and staying up to date with all our news and activities).
